Do take the time to read the following (its quite interesting~).. If any of your questions are not answered below, let us know by emailing us at theblackboxshoppe@hotmail.com

Last Updated: 29th April 2010

Q: How many owner(s) are there?

One! That's me, yilin.

Q: How can we contact you?
Our main mode of communication is by email. We have 2 email accounts: theblackboxshoppe@hotmail.com and theblackboxshoppe@gmail.com . Our hotmail account is our main account, and try to only contact us by our gmail account if emails to our hotmail account get bounced. We only provide our handphone number when necessary.

Q: Can i sms you my order or other important questions?
Generally I discourage communication through sms-es because I am not able to keep track of our conversation and refer back to it in the future. Unless its urgent, or for meetup purposes otherwise generally I do not wish to communicate through this mode.

Q: How do I know if your clothes will look as great on me as on the model?
Check out our Flickr Album here for sample pictures of our clothes worn on ordinary girls!

Q:How in the world am i supposed to make an order?
Preorders: There will always be a link to an order form under at the top of the page for every preorder. Simply fill in the order form and send it to our email.

Instocks/Collections: You can find the order form link on the right column of the website, under "How to Order?". To know if the an item is pending or sold, check under the picture for status. If nothing is written there, the item is available =) Alternatively, you can just email us the item code/name and mode of collection.

Q: Which account do i do bank transfers to?
A: That will be our Posb Savings account 209 21207 2. Note that we only have ONE bank account, and anyone asking you to transfer to another bank account IS NOT US! If you are an overseas buyer, we can accept payments by paypal but paypal charges some extra fees.
We also accept interbank transfers for our items.

Q: So, what do you guys do?

Preorders, instocks, collections*new in 2008*, 2nd Hand Wares. =) That's the gist of it. Mainly preorders and instocks though!

Q: Whats a preorder?

A: Basically preorders allow you to order clothings in advance. Payments MUST be made beforehand. There is usually a deadline for most of our preorders so your payment must be in by the deadline otherwise your order will be automatically cancelled. Following that, items will arrive within a week or two and subsequently be distributed to all buyers.

Q: What's an instock?

A: Instocks are clothings that are already in Singapore and there is no waiting time like preorders. Most people prefer this choice because no one likes to wait! Sometimes we bring in 5-8 extra pieces of instocks with each preorder batch and these pieces usually cant be found in the preorders. =) However these instocks get sold very quickly so quantity is very limited.

Q: Should i order from preorders or instocks?

A: It really depends on you. If you like your stuff slightly cheaper(at most $1 difference) and are willing to wait for 1-1.5 weeks, then go for preorders! There is usually a much larger variety in preorders anyway. If you need the items for a particular occasion, and simply detest waiting, go for instocks! In addition, you can request for more accurate measurements etc... =)

Q: Is there a difference between a collection and preorders/instocks?

A: By theblackbox-shoppe's definition, yes there is a difference. Collections are launched every now and then with a particular theme. These items will be brought in to Singapore first and we will have our very own model to model the clothes! Most of the times these clothes will not be available in our preorders and instocks... =) But if there is popular demand for a particular piece we might do backorders..

Q: How do we know that theblackbox-shoppe is not a fraud?

A: Just take a look at our website ~ I should think its quite obvious that a considerable amount of effort has been put into uploading the pictures, updating status of preorders and availability of instocks.. Scammers will not bother with the details.. Furthermore our preorders actually date back to early 2007 when we first started so its also proof that we are not a fraud! In addition, do a simple "google" search on our shop. You will not find any complaints on us.

Q: Do you blacklist people very often?

A: No actually. We dont like to blacklist people, but it doesnt mean you can take advantage of that! If you go missing-in-action, and you have been reported by other websites too, you will definitely be blacklisted. Also, we give every single person a chance to explain their MIA reasons first, but of course if you still dont bother to reply to that email, then you'll definitely be on our black list. With regard to cancelling of orders, we do not accept reasons like no money(please dont order then). Other than that we are pretty flexible. Also, we can accept if you cancel an order BEFORE the deadline of a preorder. Otherwise.. *grr*.

Q: Do you do meetups?

A: Please check with us by email.

Q: Do you charge fees for meetups?

For meetups at Pasir Ris, there wont be any transport fees. For other meetups, there is a possibility that a small transport fee will be charged. I am no longer enjoying student concession rates hence my transport fees will be a consideration.

Q: What are the terms and conditions?

Preorders and collections and backorders will have their own individual set of T&Cs in the same post(usually found at the top of the post). Instocks will follow the general T&Cs found in the "Order" Page.

Q: Can i pay upon collection?

For preorders, absolutely NO. We have had previous experiences where we gave customers 1-2days grace after the deadline, and they go MIA. Unless you one of our very regular customers, otherwise no exceptions will be made. On a lighter note, deposits(usually 50%) are allowed for preorders.

For instocks and collections, if you opt for postage, then naturally full payment must be made beforehand. No deposits allowed. If you opt for meetups, then yes you can pay upon collection.

Q: When do you send out packages?

Because my schedule on weekdays is very tight, i usually make a trip down to Singpost every Saturday. So its best if you email me your address before every Saturday, otherwise i will only be able to send our your package the following Ssaturday. This applies especially to those who opt for registered postage b/c i will have to go down to the post office. For normal postage, if the package is not too big, i can still drop it at the post office box at my house instead. (I always have some stamps on hand! =) )
Generally, 1-2 days after payment; in the case of preorders it will be mailed out within 3 days of arrival of goods in Singapore.
